  • No need to handle money or donations
  • The Komen Race Center for your Team (in most cities) will track participants and provide you with contact information for them
  • The BUAA will help you promote events in your area

Team Captain Duties

Visit your local Komen Race site for information on forming a team in your area

  • Download the Team Captain’s handbook and review your local Race’s requirements
  • Pay special attention to deadlines and packet pick up information
As an official Team Captain, you agree to:
  • Register your team on the local Komen Race site as Team “Bradley University”
  • Maintain your team Race Center (provided by Komen in most cities)
  • Promote TEAM BRADLEY membership! Alumni, friends, and family! Communicate with your Team members as necessary (via the web site provided by Komen)
  • Pick up ALL the packets for registered members of your team from Komen on the designated dates. (per your local affiliate instructions)
  • Distribute Komen packets to Team Members
  • Consider hosting a packet pick up “happy hour” a couple of days before your Race or designate “open house” hours at your home or office for team members to pick up packets
  • Designate a meeting place for TEAM members on Race day
  • Take photos, videos, etc of your Team on Race day and send to the Alumni Office

The Alumni Office will provide the following support

  • Email promotion to local alumni
  • Creation of a Race for the Cure events page with information about your packet pick-up, team registration, t-shirt ordering, and more
