The Centurion Society was created by the Bradley University Board of Trustees on the occasion of the University’s 85th anniversary to honor outstanding Bradley alumni for their career achievements in business, public life, and the professions. Centurions are individuals of special talent and attainment who have become national or international leaders in their field.
Charter members of the Centurion Society were all recipients of the Bradley University Alumni Association’s Distinguished Alumnus Award, one of Bradley’s highest alumni honors. Since 1982, other distinguished alumni have been selected for membership.
The image on the medallion was adapted from that of the lion high on the facing of Westlake Hall where it overlooks the Quadrangle. Just as the lion is a figurative sentinel guarding the campus and its ideals, so are the Centurions guardians of the mission of Bradley University through their leadership, devoted service and commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
Centurion profiles are listed in chronological order of the year they received the award.
