Dr. Dawn Jourdan is a 1996 graduate of Bradley University. After earning her degree in Urban Affairs and Theatre Arts on the Hilltop, Dr. Jourdan attended the University of Kansas, where she earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master’s in
Urban Planning in 2000. She practiced law in Chicago for a time before returning to higher education to earn her Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from Florida State University in 2004. She is currently the Division Director of City and
Regional Planning at the University of Oklahoma in Norman. She has published widely in the main academic journals and law reviews in her field and is considered an expert in issues where the law and planning practice intersect. Her research has aspecial emphasis on constitutionally protected property rights and issues related to exclusion of people and land uses.
