Markin Center Alumni Membership

Good news from the Hilltop! We’ve listened to the requests of our alumni and starting January 2014, alumni memberships to the Markin Family Student Recreation Center will be available. Alumni memberships will be made available to 100 alumni selected from a lottery of those who apply and meet set criteria. The cost for a one-year alumni membership is $500 that includes a current Bradley University ID. The $500 fee must be paid in-full by January 15, 2014.

To be eligible for alumni membership to the Markin Center, you must be classified as a Bradley alumnus or alumna; you must be a donor to the University within the last year or do so prior to obtaining membership, and must agree to and sign documentation detailing policies, procedures and expectations of alumni pass holders. Violations will result in forfeiture of pass with no refund.

If you are interested in applying for membership to the Markin Center, please complete the on-line application no later than December 6, 2013. Applications will also be accepted by mail at Bradley University, Alumni Relations, 1501 W. Bradley Ave, Peoria IL 61625. Alumni selected in the lottery will be notified of their selection no later than December 13th.

Answers to the most frequently asked questions are as follows:

What does the $500 per year provide?

As an alumni member, you have access during building hours – there are no restrictions to any activity areas providing availability. First year membership includes a Bradley Alumni ID. There is no locker rental, and members are eligible to purchase group fitness passes and personal training sessions.

Are there any restrictions?
Alumni may not participate in intramurals or reserve spaces with the exception of the racquetball courts which have a reservation policy.

May I bring guests to the Markin Center?
Alumni members must follow the Markin Center guest-pass policy that allows members to sponsor one guest per day at a fee of $5.00. The alumni pass is an individual pass, not a family membership.

Where am I allowed to park?
A one-year, $50 parking pass is available for swipe-card access to the Main Street Parking Deck. Parking is not available anywhere else on campus, and the fee is non-refundable.

What if I join mid-year?
In case 100 memberships are not filled, alumni (meeting the above criteria) may join later in the year based upon a first come, first serve basis. Passes will run from January 1 through December 31 of each year. As with faculty/staff membership, Bradley will prorate by month if someone signs up mid-year. As with full year memberships, prorated amounts must be paid in full at time of registration.

Are refunds available?
No. If membership is ended prior to the expiration date, for any reason, the remaining balance will be processed as a gift to the University.
